Founded in 1978, DECOMA Industries has been the South Bay's choice for commercial and residential development, construction, and management for over forty years. We're a family-run general contractor and strategic real estate company, specializing in the new development, renovation, and adaptive reuse of commercial and residential properties across Torrance, El Segundo, Redondo Beach, Palos Verdes, San Pedro, and greater Los Angeles. We've completed over 3,000 projects in the Los Angeles area for a remarkably diverse range of clients — from Walt Disney Imagineering, McDonnell Douglas, Northrop, and Westfield to South Bay homeowners we've built for across three decades. The work spans progressive urban infill and adaptive-reuse development, high-end apartment rehabilitation with ongoing property management, commercial construction and tenant improvements, and custom homes. Yes. DECOMA has been family-run since 1978 and is led today by John Notaro, President & CEO — a second-generation South Bay general contractor who has been on job sites here for over forty years. When you call in year ten, the same family answers the phone.

We're based in Harbor City and have built across these cities for more than four decades.
Is DECOMA a general contractor, a developer, or a property manager?
All three, under one roof — that's the model. We develop and design projects, self-perform the construction under our CSLB Class A and B license, and manage the finished buildings through our property-management arm. Single-point accountability is why our work lands on budget and clients keep coming back.
